Program Overview

TUBITAK's 1507 SME R&D Startup Support Program provides grants up to 3,000,000 TL for research and development projects. SMEs receive 75% grant support for their first five projects, provided at least two are joint applications. This program represents one of Turkey's most valuable R&D support mechanisms for technology and innovation companies.

Project Timeline and Structure

Projects cannot exceed 18 months in duration. The structured timeline ensures focused R&D execution while maintaining reasonable support periods. Companies can apply for multiple projects sequentially, with the 75% support rate applying to the first five approved projects.

Joint Application Requirement

To qualify for 75% support on all five projects, at least two must be joint applications with research institutions, universities, or other companies. This collaborative requirement encourages knowledge transfer and strengthens Turkey's R&D ecosystem through institutional partnerships.

TUBITAK BiGG Program

TUBITAK also operates the 1512 BiGG Program providing grants up to 450,000 TL for innovative business ideas. Entrepreneurs developing games, applications, and technology products can leverage BiGG support to commercialize projects. BiGG made 231 pre-seed investments in 2024 and 101 in the first half of 2025.

Application Process

Submit applications through TUBITAK's online portal at tubitak.gov.tr. Include detailed R&D project descriptions, budget breakdowns, technical methodology, expected outcomes, and commercialization plans. Applications are evaluated based on technological innovation, feasibility, market potential, and team capability.
