It is written to meet the requirements of the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010, the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012, and Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 27 of 2022), which together cover our core markets.
Information You Provide Directly
- Contact information: Name, email address, phone number, company name, and role when you contact us, subscribe to our newsletter, download a resource, or use one of our calculators or assessment tools
- Business information: Industry, company size, and details you include in your messages or tool inputs
- Career applications: Name, email, LinkedIn/GitHub profiles, and application materials when you apply to work with us
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information through cookies and similar technologies:
- Usage data: Pages visited, time spent, navigation patterns, and interactions (including anonymized session replays; see Analytics below)
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, and device type
- Location data: General geographic location based on IP address
- Referral data: How you found us (for example, a search engine, a LinkedIn post, or a campaign link), stored in first-party cookies
- Company identification: For business visitors, the organization your network belongs to, derived from your IP address (see Company Identification below)

Cookies
We use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential cookies: required for the site to work, including
pp_consent, which remembers your cookie choice below. - First-party attribution cookies (ours):
pp_vid, pp_first_touch, pp_last_touch, pp_visits, and pp_session record a random visitor identifier so we can recognise a returning visit, how you originally found us, your most recent referral source, and whether you have visited before. They contain no name or contact details. - Analytics cookies: set by Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, Vercel Analytics, and Ahrefs Analytics (see Analytics below). These run on the basis of this notice.
- Advertising cookies: set by advertising platforms (LinkedIn, Google, Meta/Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit) only after you accept them via our cookie notice. If you decline, these tags do not fire.

Analytics and Session Replay
We use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use our website in aggregate. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. We use Microsoft Clarity for heatmaps and anonymized session replays that show us how pages are used; form inputs are masked. We also use Vercel Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics for privacy-focused, aggregate traffic measurement. We never send your name or email address to any analytics tool.
Company Identification
Because we serve businesses, we use Snitcher to infer, from your IP address, which organization a visit likely came from (for example, "someone at Company X viewed our training pages"). This works at company level: it does not tell us who you are as an individual, and we do not combine it with personal identification of anonymous visitors.
Advertising and Matched Audiences
With your consent, we advertise on LinkedIn and Google (business audiences) and Instagram and TikTok (professional-development programs). Two mechanisms are involved, and both are consent-based:
- Advertising cookies on this site (see Cookies above), only set after you accept them.
- Matched audiences: if you tick the consent box on one of our forms, we may share a hashed (unreadable) version of your email address with these platforms so we can show you relevant Pertama Partners content there. On our contact form this box is optional; for gated downloads (whitepapers, research reports, calculator results) it is part of the exchange for the free resource, and you are free not to download. Either way, we only do this for people who have ticked the box, and you can withdraw at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, without losing access to anything you have already received.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data Sharing
We share personal data only with service providers that help us operate, under contracts limiting their use of it:
- Vercel: website hosting
- Google: analytics, tag management, and (with consent) advertising
- Microsoft: Clarity analytics
- Snitcher: company-level visitor identification
- Resend: transactional and newsletter email delivery
- Airtable: career-application management
- Advertising platforms (LinkedIn, Google, Meta, TikTok): only as described under Advertising, with consent
- Adobe: electronic signatures, where you sign documents with us
- Pertama Signal: our own client-management system, where records of your enquiries and interactions with us are kept
We may also disclose data when required by law or to protect our rights.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
Subject to the law that applies to you, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and request a copy
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time (including for marketing and advertising)
- Malaysia (PDPA 2010): require us to stop processing your data for direct marketing (section 43)
- Singapore (PDPA 2012): withdraw consent and request access/correction as provided by the Act
- Indonesia (Law 27/2022): the access, correction, deletion, objection, and consent-withdrawal rights provided by the PDP Law
- Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will respond within the timeline required by the applicable law. Every marketing email we send also contains an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.
Data Retention
- Enquiries and client records: kept while we have an active relationship with you or your organization, and for a reasonable period afterwards
- Website analytics and attribution data: retained for up to 24 months
- Marketing consent: until you withdraw it; suppression records are kept so we don't contact you again
- Career applications: up to 12 months after a hiring decision, unless you ask us to delete them sooner
International Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including Singapore, the United States, and the European Union, where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the new policy on this page with an updated revision date, and flag significant changes prominently.
