A ChatGPT workshop is a structured training programme that teaches corporate teams how to use ChatGPT (and similar AI tools) productively and safely for business tasks. Unlike self-learning or watching tutorials, a facilitated workshop provides hands-on practice, real-time feedback, and company-specific guidance.
Best for: Leadership teams, board members Focus: Strategic overview — what AI means for your business, governance responsibilities, and investment decisions Outcome: Leaders can make informed decisions about AI adoption
Best for: Teams of 15-30 employees from any department Focus: Practical skills — tool usage, prompt engineering, department-specific use cases, and safe use Outcome: Participants can use ChatGPT independently for daily work tasks
Best for: AI champions, innovation teams, IT leaders Focus: Advanced skills — complex prompting, workflow design, policy creation, and adoption planning Outcome: Participants can lead AI adoption in their departments
Best for: A single department (HR, Sales, Finance, etc.) Focus: Department-specific use cases, prompts, and workflows Outcome: The department has a ready-to-implement AI workflow for their highest-impact tasks
The most popular format is the 1-day workshop. Here is what a typical day covers:
09:00-09:30 — Opening: Why ChatGPT Matters for Your Company Context setting: how AI is changing your industry, what competitors are doing, and the opportunity cost of inaction.
09:30-10:30 — AI Literacy Understanding what ChatGPT can do (and cannot), the difference between AI models, and practical capabilities vs. limitations.
10:45-12:15 — Hands-On: Your First 50 Prompts Guided practice session. Participants use ChatGPT for their actual work tasks: drafting emails, summarising documents, researching topics, and creating content. Trainer provides real-time feedback and tips.
13:15-14:45 — Prompt Engineering Masterclass Beyond basic prompts: role-based prompting, chain-of-thought, few-shot examples, structured outputs, and iterative refinement. Participants build a prompt library they can take back to their desk.
15:00-16:00 — Department Use-Case Workshop Breakout sessions by department. Each group identifies their top 3 AI use cases and creates prompt templates for each. Cross-team sharing at the end.
16:00-16:45 — AI Governance and Safe Use Your company's AI policy, data classification, quality assurance requirements, and what to do when things go wrong.
16:45-17:00 — Action Plan and Close Each participant writes down 3 specific tasks they will use ChatGPT for in the next week. Group photo and certificates.
| Country | Format | Cost (15-30 pax) | Funding Available | Net Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Malaysia | 1-day | RM15,000-RM35,000 | HRDF 100% | ~RM0 |
| Malaysia | 2-day | RM25,000-RM55,000 | HRDF 100% | ~RM0 |
| Singapore | 1-day | S$5,000-S$15,000 | SSG 70-90% + SFEC + AP | ~S$0 |
| Singapore | 2-day | S$8,000-S$25,000 | SSG 70-90% + SFEC + AP | ~S$0 |
With government funding covering the full cost in most cases, the only investment is your team's time — and the productivity gains typically pay that back within the first week.
In Malaysia, a 1-day workshop for 15-30 participants costs RM15,000-RM35,000, fully HRDF claimable. In Singapore, it costs S$5,000-S$15,000 with 70-90% SSG subsidies. Most companies pay zero net cost after government funding.
The ideal group size is 15-30 for interactive learning and individual attention. Smaller groups (10-15) allow for more personalised instruction. Larger groups (30-50) are possible but work better for awareness-level sessions rather than hands-on workshops.
Participants should bring: a laptop with approved AI tool access, real work examples to practice with (emails to draft, documents to summarise, reports to write), and an open mind. Pre-workshop setup of ChatGPT accounts is recommended.
